Our privacy promise
Your data should improve your experience, not become the product.
Pear may learn from the choices and activity you provide within the platform to make shopping more relevant. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not believe personalization should require giving up control of your privacy.
1. Our approach
Privacy is a core part of how Pear is designed.
We collect information that helps us operate the website, understand interest in Pear, and eventually improve the shopping experience. We do not sell personal information to advertisers or third parties.
2. Information we collect
The information Pear collects depends on how you interact with us.
- Your name and email address
- Brand or company information submitted through partnership forms
- Shopping preferences you choose to provide
- Favorite brands, sizes, style interests, and budget preferences
- Activity within Pear, such as products viewed, saved, or removed
- Device, browser, and general usage information
- Messages or other information you submit directly to us
3. How we use your information
We may use your information to:
- Provide and personalize your Pear experience
- Recommend products and brands relevant to your interests
- Operate, maintain, and improve the platform
- Respond to questions and provide support
- Review brand partnership applications
- Send waitlist, launch, partnership, and service updates
- Protect Pear from fraud, misuse, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
4. What brands can see
Brands only receive information needed to support the interactions you choose to have with them.
For example, when purchases become available, a brand may receive the order, contact, shipping, and payment-related information needed to process and fulfill your purchase.
Brands may also receive engagement insights related to their own products and brand within Pear, such as product views, saves, follows, and purchases. These insights help brands better understand how shoppers interact with their products and improve the experience they provide.
This information does not extend beyond Pear. Brands cannot access your complete Pear profile, your activity across other brands, or your browsing behavior outside the platform.
5. What we do not do
Pear does not:
- Sell your personal information
- Share your information with advertising networks for cross-site advertising
- Allow one brand to view your activity with other brands
- Track your browsing across unrelated websites to build advertising profiles
6. When we may share information
We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate Pear, such as hosting, analytics, communications, security, and payment providers.
These providers may only use the information to perform services for Pear. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our legal rights, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of the business.
7. Cookies and analytics
Pear may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the website working, remember preferences, understand website usage, and improve performance.
You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect how parts of the website function.
8. Your choices
Depending on the features available, you may be able to:
- Update your account and shopping preferences
- Change the brands you follow
- Remove products from your feed
- Manage email and communication preferences
- Request access to or correction of your information
- Request deletion of your account and personal information
9. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, respond to requests, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect Pear.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it was collected.
10. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information.
No online service can guarantee complete security, but protecting personal information is an important part of how Pear is built and operated.
11. Children’s privacy
Pear is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Pear develops and new features become available.
When we make changes, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the date shown above.
